1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out the rules governing the use of the Nexa Nurse website, mobile applications available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, APIs, and all related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

The purpose of this Policy is to protect Clients, Registered Nurses, Care Assistants, healthcare institutions, corporate organizations, and Nexa Nurse from fraud, abuse, illegal activity, and misuse of the Platform.

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this Policy.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including:

  • Clients
  • Patients
  • Registered Nurses
  • Care Assistants
  • Healthcare institutions
  • Corporate organizations
  • Visitors
  • Third-party partners
  • Developers using Nexa Nurse services

3. Lawful Use

You may only use the Platform for lawful purposes.

You agree to comply with:

  • Applicable laws and regulations;
  • Professional standards;
  • These Terms;
  • Other Nexa Nurse policies.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Platform does not violate the rights of others.

4. Permitted Uses

You may use the Platform to:

  • Register an account.
  • Book healthcare services.
  • Offer healthcare services (if approved).
  • Manage appointments.
  • Make and receive payments through approved channels.
  • Communicate regarding bookings.
  • Access educational content.
  • Contact customer support.
  • Leave honest reviews.

5. Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Platform to:

  • Engage in unlawful activity.
  • Commit fraud or attempted fraud.
  • Misrepresent your identity or qualifications.
  • Circumvent Platform fees or payment systems.
  • Create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages.
  • Manipulate ratings, reviews, or search results.
  • Impersonate another person or organization.
  • Violate another person’s privacy or confidentiality.
  • Upload malicious software or harmful code.
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Platform.
  • Promote illegal goods or services.
  • Engage in money laundering or other financial crimes.

6. Fraud and Misrepresentation

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Submitting false identification documents.
  • Using forged licences or certificates.
  • Providing inaccurate account information.
  • Creating fake bookings.
  • Falsely confirming services.
  • Submitting fraudulent refund requests.
  • Making false complaints.
  • Attempting to obtain payments through deception.

Nexa Nurse reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts involved in fraudulent activities and may report such conduct to the appropriate authorities.

7. Professional Conduct

Healthcare Professionals must:

  • Work only within their qualifications and scope of practice.
  • Maintain valid licences and certifications where applicable.
  • Provide services professionally and ethically.
  • Respect patient confidentiality.
  • Comply with healthcare laws and regulations.

Healthcare Professionals must not:

  • Practice while impaired by alcohol or illegal drugs.
  • Perform unauthorized medical procedures.
  • Demand unauthorized payments.
  • Falsify medical records.
  • Neglect or abandon patients.

8. Client Responsibilities

Clients must:

  • Provide accurate booking information.
  • Respect Healthcare Professionals.
  • Ensure a safe service environment.
  • Make payments through the Platform.
  • Report genuine concerns promptly.

Clients must not:

  • Harass Healthcare Professionals.
  • Request unlawful services.
  • Encourage Healthcare Professionals to bypass the Platform.
  • Submit fraudulent payment disputes or chargebacks.

9. Payments Outside the Platform

To protect all users, bookings initiated through Nexa Nurse must be completed and paid for through the Platform unless Nexa Nurse provides prior written authorization.

Users must not:

  • Request or accept off-platform payments.
  • Exchange personal payment details to avoid Platform fees.
  • Encourage others to bypass Nexa Nurse’s payment system.

Violation of this provision may result in suspension or termination of the accounts involved.

10. Privacy and Confidentiality

Users must respect the privacy of others.

You must not:

  • Collect personal information without authorization.
  • Share confidential medical information.
  • Publish another person’s contact details without consent.
  • Record or distribute conversations or images without lawful authority.

Healthcare Professionals must comply with applicable confidentiality obligations at all times.

11. Respectful Communication

Users are expected to communicate respectfully.

The following behaviour is prohibited:

  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Hate speech
  • Bullying
  • Intimidation
  • Discrimination
  • Offensive language
  • Sexual harassment
  • Abuse
  • Stalking

Nexa Nurse has zero tolerance for abusive conduct.

12. Platform Security

You must not:

  • Attempt unauthorized access to the Platform.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform.
  • Probe or test Platform vulnerabilities without authorization.
  • Upload malware, ransomware, spyware, or viruses.
  • Circumvent security controls.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or harvest Platform data without permission.

Any activity that threatens the security or integrity of the Platform may result in immediate account suspension and legal action.

13. Intellectual Property

Users must respect intellectual property rights.

You must not:

  • Copy or reproduce Platform content without permission.
  • Use the Nexa Nurse name, logo, or trademarks without authorization.
  • Remove copyright notices.
  • Distribute proprietary content unlawfully.

All intellectual property rights in the Platform remain the property of Nexa Nurse or its licensors.

14. Reviews and Ratings

Reviews should:

  • Reflect genuine experiences.
  • Be truthful.
  • Be respectful.
  • Avoid defamatory or abusive content.

Users must not:

  • Post fake reviews.
  • Exchange incentives for positive ratings.
  • Manipulate review systems.

Nexa Nurse reserves the right to remove content that violates this Policy.

15. Reporting Violations

Users are encouraged to report suspected violations of this Policy, including:

  • Fraud
  • Harassment
  • Abuse
  • Privacy violations
  • Professional misconduct
  • Fake accounts
  • Security incidents
  • Payment fraud
  • Other unlawful activity

Reports should include sufficient information to allow Nexa Nurse to investigate.

16. Enforcement

Where a violation is identified, Nexa Nurse may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Issue a warning.
  • Remove content.
  • Restrict access to certain features.
  • Cancel bookings.
  • Place payments on hold.
  • Suspend an account.
  • Permanently terminate an account.
  • Report unlawful conduct to law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
  • Pursue legal remedies where appropriate.

Enforcement decisions will be based on the seriousness of the violation and the available evidence.

17. Appeals

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may submit a written appeal.

Appeals should include:

  • A description of the issue.
  • Relevant account or booking information.
  • Supporting evidence.

Nexa Nurse will review appeals within a reasonable timeframe and communicate its decision.

18. Changes to This Policy

Nexa Nurse may amend this Acceptable Use Policy at any time to reflect changes in legal requirements, technology, or Platform operations.

The updated version will be published on the Platform with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

19. Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
